From the 24th to the 26th of March, the brothers of Sigma Phi Epsilon went to New Orleans for their annual formal event.
Brothers each brought a date, and were able to explore the city.
Brothers board busses after classes at noon and take a coach bus to New Orleans, Louisiana where they check into a Bourbon Street hotel.
Groups explore Bourbon Street and the French Quarter during the day, and in the afternoon, retreat to the hotel to prepare for the formal event.
The formal event is located at the Mercedez Benz Superdome, and is appropriately lit up in the fraternity colors: purple and red.
Mountain Weekend Retreat
The Mountain Retreat brotherhood event took place in Gatlinburg, Tennessee early in the semester during late January. The retreat enforces the three core values of virtue, diligence, and brotherly love.
Most, if not all, were able to hike through the Smoky Mountains for hours on Saturday morning, and develop an appreciation for nature and the outdoors.
Months before the event, a wildfire devastated the families of Pigeon Forge, Tennesse. Instead of hiking or relaxing, some brothers donated their time to a local reief center which helped the families which were affected.
This event is a great way to bond with brothers old and new. Since the event is mandatory, it is a great way to spend time with all of the brothers in the chapter who may be too busy to come to all of the events the chapter has throughout the semester.
